In a world where leaders are recognized for their visionary actions and contributions, there are some individuals who stand out not just for their professional accomplishments, but for their unwavering commitment to making a positive impact on their community. One such figure is Charles Nabholz, the Chairman of the Board of Nabholz Properties. It is with great pleasure in our 40th year in business that we congratulate Charles on being honored for his exceptional Community Impact by the Foothills District, Quapaw Area Council, and Boy Scouts of America and given the title of 2023 Heart of the Eagle.

Charles Nabholz’s journey is one that encapsulates the true spirit of entrepreneurship, dedication, and community service. Born and raised on a farm in Conway, Arkansas, Charles’s roots instilled in him a strong work ethic and a deep sense of responsibility towards the community he called home. His journey began within the folds of his family’s construction business, Nabholz Construction founded by his brother Bob in 1949. This is the place where he honed his leadership skills and learned the intricacies of the construction industry.

In 1981, Charles Nabholz answered the call of public service and accepted an appointment by Governor Frank White to become the Director of State Building Services, which is now recognized as the State Building Authority. This dedication to serving his state showcased his willingness to step up and contribute to the betterment of his community on a larger scale.

Two years later, Charles embarked on a new chapter of his journey by founding Nabholz Properties along with his brothers Bob, Edmund, and Tom in 1983. As the former President and current Chairman of the Board of this enterprise, he continues to exemplify his dedication to excellence, innovation, and community growth. His leadership not only drove the success of his own company, but it also played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of commercial real estate in Central Arkansas.

Charles Nabholz’s commitment to community development has been reflected in his active involvement in various boards and organizations. He has lent his expertise to Conway Corporation, Conway Development Corporation, and Conway Regional Health System, among others. His visionary leadership was particularly evident when he chaired the Steering Committee for Conway Vision 2025 in 2010/2011, laying the foundation for the growth and progress that the region is experiencing today.

Charles was one of the recipients of the Leadership in Free Enterprise (LIFE) award by Economics Arkansas in 2017, He also received the St. Joseph School Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2012, The Distinguished Citizen Award from the Arkansas DHS Division of Volunteering in 2011, The Arkansas Children’s Award from the Arkansas Sheriff’s Youth Ranches in 2010, and  the Conway Chamber of Commerce’s Distinguished Service Award in 2005, These accolades are a testament to his unwavering commitment to community service and his tireless efforts to create a positive impact on the lives of those around him.

As Charles Nabholz continues to serve as the Chairman of the Board Emeritus of Nabholz Construction and contributes to various non-profit boards, his legacy of community impact continues to thrive. His story reminds us all that entrepreneurship and community service can go hand in hand and that the mark of a true leader is measured not just by their professional accomplishments, but by the positive change they inspire.

Congratulations, Charles Nabholz, on this well-deserved recognition of being the 2023 Heart of the Eagle award by the Foothills District, Quapaw Area Council, and Boy Scouts of America. Your journey is an inspiration to us all, and your legacy will continue to shape the future of your community for generations to come.
